NEARLY DONE

Remember, we were in the process of making our condo more livable

Happy to report that  the holes that were there,  have been filled up

Things are not as dark as they used to be in the bedroom. And a pretty lamp shows me whether my sheets and clothes are clean or dirty. Sorry, the pic does not do justice to the lamp. Still need to hang the bedside lights, so we can do some light night reading (or late night reading!

Both of our bathrooms had these pillar sinks. IThey may look pretty on a pic, but very unpractical when there is no room

to store bathroom supplies and place for toiletries. It was really fun the choose these cabinets. The black may make it look a little smaller, but is balanced by the marble white counter top and sink. I love, LOVE all the drawers.
One more shower head, and then we're done! Hubby offered to redo the kitchen, but at this time I didn't feel like having all my kitchen supplies on the floor for  months (because that's what will happen.:)

It was around  this time last year that we started thinking about moving! It's about time to get settled!  Now my house is more in order, I can do more of the fun things, like visiting my kids and their families this weekend and bringing chocolates for the grand children.
Hope you take time to enjoy life!

Enjoy the fun things as you said. It's always great to have things organized at home and that is just what I am procrastinating about right now:) Great improvements you have made and have a happy weekend!

I had to laugh at your comment about the pillar sink. We have one of those in our hall bath and will soon be replacing it with cabinets and drawers. Thanks for sharing this with us!

Wow, you sure have been busy! I like the light fixture too. It seems to fit in well, and looks much better than the jagged hole.

Keep up the good work!

I like that bathroom vanity...lots of drama there. At the same time very serene. How does that happen, I wonder.
Renovating is such an upheaval and a lot of work to get everything back together. Nice that you're done and can enjoy your holidays.

I love the light fixture and the black cabinet. I hope it doesn't take me a year to get settled, but it just might. The next room up is my knitting studio. yay.

mmmm...chocolate...

Jane (Midwest),
It helped a great deal that hubby knows to which stores to go too, and how to install it, since he's a carpenter, so I'm blessed in this way:) You'll be discouraged, it may take you a bit longer, but you'll get there Jane!

Janelle,
If you have one, you know how impractical they are! Such a relief when it's done, so don't postpone:)

Clytie,
Well, hubby was the one who was busy -I just took pics, and with him to the store to choose the stuff I wanted.

Stickhorse,
It is a huge and daunting task just to know what options one has, to do the organizing, buying and let someone install it. I don't envy you (hugs).

Stephanie,
Yes, the combination of the cabinets and the counter "feels" kind of Japanese - but I had been watching those programs of DIY(builders that remodel one's home) network for months, so I had an idea what would look good in our bathroom.
Hubby is a carpenter -boy, do I know about extended renovations:)

Rudee,
Maybe you remember that I bought a foreclosure and doorhandles, lights, bathroom hardware was taken out - those pillar sinks were put in there loose, with the mirrors on the ground - at first you think, oh no big deal, till you start living in it!
Take care with your house move!!!

I like your before and after pictures. The lamp and new bathroom cabinet are beautiful and practical. It's nice to have time for more fun things now.

Diane,
I decided I like them too. Thank you, the lamp looks much daintier than on the pic (didn't know it was so hard to get a good shot of a lamp!!:()
Wishing you a great Easter!
