So is this poem - still without definite form and not finished - but it fits with my story about the New Year.

NEW YEARS MORNING
Yesteryear already starts yellowing
like a black and white photo
experiences and feelings
as snow melting on the mountains
sinking into the soil of my heart
leaving regret and mistakes
of myself and others
as well as joy and gains.
Looking into a new mirror
straining to see and hear
through a thick layer of fog
obscuring the boats nearby
Catalina island in the distance.
Strangely quiet is this beginning
when clouds hovering the earth
seem to nudge
Wait a little longer with busyness
with chatter, with clutter,
wait till all is clear
let this piece of clay
take a new form
careful not to let
the promises of a new day
slip through my fingers
form, sculpt and build
anything lovely and tangible
a keepsake for years to come.

Hi Jeanette, thanks for your story and photos! Thanks also for your comment. My camera is a Pentax Optio SV. Yes we have a lot in common. If you want to see a glimpse of my life you can go to my entry of 12 December.
Happy New Year!
Thanks for sharing your New Year's experiences. My camera is a Pentax Optio SV. We have a lot in common indeed!
Thank you for your comments and responding to my question about your camera.
Wow, you're an avid blogger! I looked up your entry of Dec. 12, which was about Christmas flower/candle arrangements - Is that what you meant with "a glimpse of your life?" - or is it another date that you meant for me to look at?
About the new Year, i thought life would really slow down, as is does in most years, but this year it seems I have every day "something" that keeps me from having time to paint.I also may spend too much time on the computer blogging LOL,
cheers, jeannette
Hi and thank you for visiting my blog! Both your poem and the photos are lovely, making me very glad I came.
all the best-

Hi, so am I visiting yours, because I saw on your blog a reference to your husband's blog, and I never get enough of art (there's also the similarity: I'm an almost retired therapist, and spend more and more time with art) - cheers, jeannette
Thanks for the visit! Have a great Sunday!
No I meant the one about my life on the 15th December. It's called 'That's My World, My life and family" Sorry! Thanks for your visit.
Hello!
Thank you for visiting my photoblog and leaving a comment!
I have a standard d-slr kit: canon 400d, 18/55 lens, no extra flash, no tripod...
The 'frozen mist' pictures on my blog are composed of more than 1 picture: photomerged in PhotoShop...
Just an idea: maybe you will like these pictures as well...
Pictures I took on Shetland in May 2008.
Hi Jeanette, Thanks for visiting my blog. Adelaide is in South Australia, a very warm climate - it's going to be 41 degrees on Tuesday! We are also in drought so it is hard to garden these days. I only water plants that are in pots because we have water restrictions. I love the paintings you have done of Mary and the Christmas story. I think you are right how Mary is usually depicted (I come from a Catholic background) so I know what you mean.
Thanks for visiting my blog. The purple one, you know :-)
I live in Belgium, I'm not good enough to write my blog in English, so I write it in Dutch.
Greetings !
We didn't immigrate to Australia, we stayed in the Netherlands. I have lived here from January 1946 until now. I married here a Dutch husband and got three children here. Two of them live here and my second daughter immigrated to Australia in 1995, where she got married to an Aborigine, got two beautiful children, divorced her husband , but is still friends with him. She considers his relatives as hers. They are really great people. My daughter prefers Australia to Holland as it is larger and she feels happy there. I feel happy here in Holland. But I visit her every year.
