Do I always do art? No, that would anyone drive batty.
This is any given day of the week.
This is any given day of the week.
Keeping up with news is important to me.
Today I heard a claim that certain vitamins reduce the symptoms
of shizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Wow, if that would be true, that would be great for the ones who suffer,
but the sales of certain medications would take a dive.
So, I need to research this some further.
Here's the paper, Nana.
Everyone's got to eat! So, I would not have wanted
to miss the last pickings from my lemon tree.
They'll ripen nicely on my window sill.

Some artists may fore go on their snacks for the sake of art. Not me!
So besides blogging,
I like to try out new recipes I've seen on the blog.
I'm about to have a slice from Joan's blog recipe of
Applecake. Delicious! With coffee or tea of course.
Another way to take care of myself is to do my exercise walk.
Rain or shine, I used to check on my roses
Rain or shine, I used to check on my roses
almost every day.
This may be the very last one this year.
And maybe for a long time, since I will have
no yard, only a deck.
no yard, only a deck.
Then of course, I need to do the dishes daily.
Laundry once a week.
Errands whenever needed.
Keep up which bills need to be paid.
Hubby and I like to talk once in a while:)
In the Fall I knit the hats (see post below).
On the bottom of my list is cleaning.

Before I know it's 10 pm.
I'm running out of time to start a new painting or art project!
Does this sound like your day?
Or am I the only one?
At least I got out of bed...
and into my day clothes:)

Jeanette, some days I feel like I am a jack of all trades and the master of none! :0)
the master of none...I like that Carol:)
Also some days feel like a whole week, and visa versa!
Is that the whole saying? (trying to sharpen my English here)Or, are you combining 2 sayings?
To my knowledge, that's the complete saying Jeannette... and I feel like that also, most days.
Would love to see your research into the vitamins reducing symptoms of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. You're so right that meds sales would take a dive, which makes me wonder if this is true... or not.
Some days it feels as if I have accomplished nothing, until I break it down and realize I have actually done a lot. Some of those mundane chores eat up a lot of hours in a day.
Thank Jane, with a 2nd language it seems one never stops learning!
Yes, I'm curious about the sources that person used. If there is something new going on that people can benefit from, I'll post it:)
VioletSky,
Exactly! And few of us can afford a maid or help! LOL
Sounds like many of my days, too:)
I loved reading about a day in your life sans painting!
I took the morning off to do some bookkeeping and housekeeping. I have to force myself to stay with it, so I was more than happy when I realized it was only noon when I finished the most important task. I rewarded myself with a cup of soup and coffee! :-)
Now, tidying up my desk,
cheers,
Merisi
It has been snowing all morning,
I almost fell out of my socks when I looked out the window this morning! What, have I hibernated or what, I was thinking.
We are now so deep into Fall here and the days and nights are so cold that our roses and the fruit on our trees is a distant memory.
As I look out the window on another cold and rainy day, I envy you.
It seems to me that at the top of my list is always cleaning, but maybe that's because I have animals. It's always a mess in here. Dusty and grimy and hairy. I would like to clean once a week, but I can't get away with it. I'm waiting for deliverance!
Rosie,
Join the club, Rosie! But at least you take many worhwhile trips (the trips you share on your blog):)
Merisi,
Clever to do these things first in the day (I postpone them as long as I can, LOL). But it's good to reward yourself:)
Snowing all morning! Oh my, I couldn't have worked at all. I love to watch the snow falling! Guess it's not where you had counted on for the weekend - have a great hibernation weekend:)
Barry,
Oh, that sounds like dismal weather! Maybe get away for a few days to a milder climate if you can, Barry to keep your spirits up.
Keep hanging on dear fellow -you can't be missed!
Green Stone Woman,
Cleaning on the top of your list sounds Dutch LOL But I don't envy you, Norah. You are right, pets bring a continuous taking care of them and your house.
My "pet" is painting, and I will clean for that, so may be it's the same for you - you don't like cleaning but you will do it for your pets:)
Besides figuring out that I forgot the picture of the rose on my post (it is now added), I wish the vitamin thing were true for schizophrenia and bipolar disease. Dare I say this may have been presented by someone with the disease?
So many I have known and worked with always wanted a way out of the meds because they have so many side effects, the worst being that they feel good enough not to need the meds any more and go off them to usually tragic results.
I do not like the effects have had on these people I know, but it has been better than the disease itself.
There will be a better understanding someday, we know so little.
Joey,
I'lll look at the rose afterwards:) About that claim, it was a pastor who broke up his medical studies to help another pastor. He asked me how auditory hallucinations could be illiminated, because in his church there are a number of people suffering from that (like I am God?) - I felt very helpless to say the least, not to be able of any more help than he already had heard about. He had made that claim (he had been working with some kind of expert)...I don't know - research says that the brain chemistry of schizophrenics may be different from non-sufferers...now I wish I knew more about chemistry and pharmacology!!
Hmmm...interesting~! So artists are just like normal people? LOL - I've always found them to be a bit strange :) I love your new header!
The pictures are lovely: Your grandson is a real red head cutie! The slice of cake and the plate complement each other nicely. The lemons and the rose arouse in us the smell and sight senses.
Your day comprises all the essentials: family, work, garden, housekeeping, walking, media, baking, knitting etc.. It's more or less the same as with others; it's all a matter of emphasis and focusing. Some will focus on house chores , others on hobbies or physical workout, etc..
Unfortunately I seem to have more of the kind of days you describe than painting days! Cleaning is also at the very bottom of my list - the garden and other things always seem more urgent. That's a lovely rose, always sad to see the last flowers of the season....
The cake looks delicious Jeannette. Keep the coffee warm I will be over later for some. :)
I always call myself 'Joan of all trades, master of none' as it seems I get involed in all kinds of things. :)
My days do not seem to have enough hours to do all the things I want to. I have still not baked those cookies I have been promising myself.
What a nice "day in the life" post. Cleaning is always on the bottom of my list.
Love the hats your knitting. I haven't knitted in years. Maybe it's time to time it up again for this good cause.
Sreddy,
I am very normal, Sreddy! Of course my post is kinda tongue-in-cheek. Not all my days are like this.
Guess, there is a strange side to everyone!
Thanks, it was a tree we saw in the gardens of Huntington Library.
Crap Blog Detective,
If you think you're funny, you are not.
Thank you Duta,
Days like this though, are without focus (for me at least), as I mostly keep an hourly calender.
haven't figured out yet, if you work full-time or part time? Or, retired? Don't have to answer this!
Deborah,
Hard to believe since I saw your blog - since you seem to work on so many creative ideas!
Yes sad, fortunately there is always next year!
BTW thanks for visiting:)
Gaelyn,
Thank you - it's kind of demystifying what artists are made of in real life -they're often put on this pedastal where they don't belong!
Gaelyn, just do whatever your heart tells you to do (it may be something else what others haven't thought of yet:) )
Joan,
thanks to you, I could bake this delicious cake!
Seems to me that you HAVE mastered some trades though!
One of Garfield's (cartoons) book's titles is "My days are Just Packed." It seems it would apply to some of my readers LOL
Oh for lemons growing out side my door--on a lemon tree!
Wonderful photography!
Beth,
lemons from your own tree taste so different from the store bought! The flavor is so much softer:)
Thank you Beth!
