That's what the homeowner said
when inviting hubby to his lavish Christmas party last year.
when inviting hubby to his lavish Christmas party last year.
Their three story house with a view on the harbor
Talking about Deck the Halls...
the stairs are a part of the ambiance
Candles wherever possible
Catching the gracious hostess
in an unguarded moment
There is nothing fake about her
and her husband enjoyment giving to their friends
The Mariachi band liven things up
people milling around
going up to the third story to see the
lighted boats cruising the harbor
(my pics didn't turn out because it was raining)
When coming in there's a whole crew to serve us
the most incredible Hispanic food
At the end the Mexican Fruit cake
A man with a German accent took this pic for us
One of the very few Christmas parties
when the weather was
cold(er) and wet,
so we could wear our Christmas sweaters
Oh, this late already??
See ya next year
Out the door we go
each friend holding
a Poinsettia from the stairs

Looks like the party was simply divine! Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year to you and yours!
Wow! Now THAT's a party!!! I've always wanted to decorate my entire house for Christmas, but never seem to be able to do so, for whatever reasons. Thanks for sharing the party (and the awesomely decorated house) with us.
Where did you get that long hair?
Wow, these folks really go all out. Looks like a very fun holiday gathering.
That sounds like it was a fun party, Jeannette! And so gorgeously decorated.
Janelle,
Yes, it was one of those memorable ones! Janelle, a very merry Christmas and that Next year will be a very creative and productive art-year!
Clyte,
I'm like you! When I get the tree, and outside lights up and a wreath for the front door, I am doing every good LOL! Thank you and have a very special Christmas!
Irene,
This was last year's party, and was surprized how long it looked. Shortly after that I had it cut mid length:)
Gaelyn,
It was fun! Many of hubby's customers have more than one house, so they have the funds to do this. But they're very nice and down to earth!
Angie,
Many of the neighbors came, so yes, it was very fun and the food was absolutly delicious!
The pictures of the hostess, the band, the fruitcake (yummy), and of you &your husband(what a hunk!) - are stunning.
Duta,
thank you, it WAS the biggest party on the block!
Lovely pictures, it seems to have been quite some party.;)My sister always decorates her stairwell for Christmas in similar way, it is gorgeous.;)
If I do not get a chance later on, I would love to wish you a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year!
xo
Zuzana
Jeannette,
My best wishes to you and your family for a very Merry Christmas!
Kat
Zuzanna,
Most middle class houses and condominiums in California are one-level. I agree, a stairwell is a great opportunity to decorate!
On Wed. we are taking off 7-8 hours North to our daughters for the holidays, but I have some posts scheduled!
Have a very merry Christmas to you too and a happy New Year!
Poetikat,
The same to you, and I'll go to your blog!
What a fun and creative party. Love the band and the idea of the guests taking home a poinsettia. Wishing you safe travels and a Merry Christmas!
Wow! beautiful deco. Merry Christmas to you and family and
a Happy New Year!!
midwesttomidlands,
Thank you and you have a merry Christmas too!
The Mariachi band and the rest of the ambiance is a Californian/Mexican thing.
Lillie,
This home owner likes to have guests!
You have a merry Christmas too, and do you celebrate the Chinese New Year? (sorry, I forgot which nationality you are)
Wow, looks like a spectacular party:)
Have a wonderful Christmas and best wishes for the New Year:)
Thank you Rosie,
That your Christmas may be memorable and wishing you the best for 2010!
I would hate to have to undecorate when it is all over but I love it when people get right into the spirit and decorate their whole house. I manage a few candles and poinsettias.
Mariachi and Christmas sounds a bit jarring to my ears, but I'm sure it was lively!
Prettige Kerstdagen, Jeannette!
Violetsky,
You remember some Dutch:)
Can't beleive that I see your comment just now, but I've seen on a trip, so still settling back in!
I've never decorated my whole house LOL
The mariachi band was actually quite good, and they did play some Christmas songs.
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
