BLUE FENCE

On our walk from the hotel to the Forbidden City in Beijing we saw this bright blue fence.
Couldn't choose which pic I liked best...

But one thing is for sure, it once was blue!

I LOVE the second picture! It has a nice 'artsy' feel.
Love the contrast of the blue with the rust.

Fascinating, peeling textures on this blue fence! Creative perspective!

great pictures, wonder what it hides

Love that blue fence Jeannette and definitely prefer the second shot with the contrasting rust.

I think the first shot does a great job of setting up for the second one
they're both great
the second one really turns the fence into art

Nice pictures, Jeanette. One doesn't often see a corrugated metal fence painted blue in a neighborhood.

If I were to guess where the fence was I would say Shanghai or Beijing, covering an older neighborhood from sight of the tourists who are staying in the hotel around the corner.
..
Thanks for the input. No, I stopped the 2010 European series before I did Gdansk. I must return with that part of our Baltic cruise.
We also have been to Warsaw and Krakow, back in 2000.

I love photographs where the intense colour is faded and mottled giving it a fine patina. Hope you enjoyed Beijing. I have been several times but not for the last twenty years so I expect it would be a very different place now.

I like the first one. You could really get the old feel of this fence.

Carletta,
Glancing over the comments up till now, I'm glad they see the art side of it! I hesitated one moment, but the next I thought, What in the world?...it's My blog:)

Greyscale,
LOL, it's my "abstract" painting side that looks for different form and colors.

Twain,
I had that same question, Gabi while I was taking the shots! But we were already observed so much, we didn't venture out.

Jane,
The Chinese like bright colors it seems:) and rust gives it an interesting view.

Dianne,
That's interesting -I never thought about it that way -thanks:)

Jim,
You're a good observer! Only someone who has been in other cultures, would see that though:) So, where is your next trip going to?

Weaver,
Did the massacre at Tienanmen square already happen when you went there?
Very interesting, when we were walking on that square I started becoming tearful -just the knowledge of what had taken place there.

A Lady'sLife,
Thank you! I took the pic because I thought maybe to use it in a painting:)

They are both great, they tell different stories and so....

Joey,
You have a keen perception, as usual:)

I like that the fence is rusty. :)

EG Wow,
Aren't metal fences always rusty?? Glad to see you back here, I was wondering if you are okay?

Love how the fence is dented, blue and rusty. Lots of character!

Not that is a fence with character. Makes an interesting photo.

Vicki,
In Beijing it may not even be an old fence -the humidity in Aug. when we were there was horrendous! So things will rust easily. Thanks for the visit:)

Rebecca,
That's what I thought - an interesting photo -don't know if I would still have the same opinion if I would live across the street:)
