Hot Pot restaurant on the W-side of Tienanman Square
Last family get together my daughter and son in law made Pho,
a Vietnamese soup that has similar ingredients to Hot Pot, a Chinese dish
that you see below.
We ate ithis meal in Beijing in August 4 years ago,

after a very rainy walk over Tienanman Square.
Looked much bleaker than this,
but wanted to show the colorful umbrellas

We spent three hours here, putting the razor thin slices of pork and beef
in the broth with spices in the steaming hot pot standing in the middle,
as well as dipping vegetables in the hot broth
incredibly satisfying meal!

Penang has more to offer, in term of food.
Pho is very delicious, I also cannot deny this. I have tried this a few years back in Hanoi.

nice post- I really liked the the photos of the buildings in particular. the art and craftmanship of chinese buildings are spectacular and you captured them well along with the flavor of the chinese culture
