HUNTINGTON GARDENS

For Floral Friday Foto
For Our World
For ABC - R
For Outdoors Wednesday
For NF Waters
For Alphabe - Z
For Weekend Reflections
For Mellow Yellow Monday

THANKS TO ALL THE HOSTS

The labels were kind of placed oddly, so I hope this is the Virginia Milky Way (Apocynacea)

A mystery flower, found in the rain forest. Fortunately I didn't have to go
all the way to the jungle! It's found in the rain forest greenhouse
of the Huntington Library Gardens in Pasadena.
They keep the air humid by a huge cloud of mist
every few minutes.So cool!

with Grain and Texture Photoshop

This Rose reminds me on a striped shirt:)
posted these two flowers early,

since I went to two mothers in mid California
- my daughters- they might be called Night and Day, so different!
for Mothers Day - hope you had a happy one too!

The Huntington Library Gardens are like the Louvre - too much to see in one day!
This is still part of the Rainforest Green house

Several of the themed gardens have fountains and ponds.
A reflection of the fish
of the fountain behind the Camellia lane

And after that... a zero degrees drink!
Now we live 20 min. from the beach, 96 degr. is hot!

Happy Mothers Day!!!

I would love to visit a little rain forest greenhouse! Great photos!

A rainforest greenhouse is a nice place to visit. Nicer than having to live in a rain forest. That's a very striking rose.

Betsy,
Thank you! Oh, you know there is art to be seen there ... have you been there?

Libby,
Thank you Libby! Hope you had a special (last) Sunday too!

Stephanie V,
Tell me about it! The humidity is so high that one would get tired very quickly!

Jama,
I've only seen this kind of rose in botanical gardens here, so it's not common to see them in people's yards.

Hanne,
Can you imagine a whole bouquet of these in a vase! It would look stunning:)

Tina,
That's the one I love too! Thanks for your visit:)

Naturefootstep,
Thank you! - I'm always looking for flowers I've never seen...

Sallie,
Thank you! For the first time we had an hour just with the 3 of us - that was great. Hope you had a wonderful weekend too!

Nixblog,
Thank you - I enjoyed the weekend, but on the day itself we also had to make the trip back -7 hrs. in the car:)

Mildred 2 x,
Thank you! I know you teach children all week, so you must be glad to have a break in the weekend (no children of your own, right?)

Jenny,
Thank you! Am sure you did some lovely and crazy things with your family:)

Andy,
Thank you! You have hubby to thank for the mysterious (specific) setting (on the camera) he chose. Sat. is mostly a busy day,but when I have a few minutes, I'll participate:)

Zongrik,
Really worth it!! Bring your camera:)

Roger,
Thank you! Because I've never been there, I'm very curious how it feels to be in there!

Sallie,
Roses are my favorite;)My daughters both smart and with a strong determination to be skillful:)

Lara Neusiedler,
What a precious thing to say! Am glad that they also know what they want:)

Stewart,
Thank you! Wished I could have come closer (without getting wet!) Wishing you a meaningful week!

Gattina,
Isn't it beautiful? The Huntington has a rose garden and any thinkable rose is in there!

What a beautiful rose, please tell me it really exists! Zero degree drink made me think of...Coca Cola. For me nothing better at 96 degrees.
