And my second hat is from Knitscene. I try to choose hats that cover the ears.
First, the bow is knitted of the Gwynedd hat, and then goes over into the ribbing of K1, P1.
I like the small subtle cable, and am now at the point of the decreases.
This is a pic how it looks like in the front (from Knit Scene's magazine, Fall 2010)

It looks like it's still available (I googled it), so don't wait too long if you like to order the pattern:)
And this is how it looks in the back. I finished it now, and it's a cute hat, but it doesn't look good on me, so the model of the magazine will have to do:)
Which kind of hat is your favorite?
Up to knit the next hat!

I love hats but the trouble is it makes such a mess of my hair. However I do like the hat you have knitted and would love to acquire the pattern. Is there any way in the UK that I can get it please?
oh how pretty,love the color
My favourite hat is a hat I bought in France and I only wear it in summer, when the sun is shining, and in Australia!
In winter I should wear a hat, but I don't.I don't think a hat suits me.
This is a pretty pattern - someone will enjoy this hat in the cold. You're right about knitted hats looking more feminine. I think it's the interest in lacework that so many knitters have. Hats are a perfect small project to practice on. And the yarns - oh, the yarns are so lovely now. They inspire pretty patterns as well.
I got a hand knit (knobbly pattern) in Germany back in the mid 1980's - and I still wear it in the winter!
I think what you are doing is amazing. Such love and caring you put into each hat ... you inspire me.
I like the hat you knitted and very much like the color which would suit me very well, because I have rosy cheeks like a real Dutch woman. Some hats are better to wear in winter than others, because some ruin your hairdo, It doesn't look like this one will. You did a great job, Jeannette and should be proud of yourself.
It's a wonderful hat. I love the pattern and just might go looking for it.
Weaver,
I can send it to you -but give me some time, because my brother and wife from Holland comes to visit, so I'm getting the house in shape, so they'll at least have a bed to sleep in (kidding):)
Gabi,
Thank you! I'll visit your blog soon!
Reader Wil,
At least you have a hat to protect you from the sun! Hope you'll find a hat for the winter (or maybe ask it as a Christmas present from one of your kids) Have a great week!
Stephanie,
Yes, nothing is more miserable than a cold head:(
My sense is that some of the nice yarns are overpriced in Calif. and not much on sale except for sock yarn.
Clytie,
Thank you -it's hard to turn a blind eye, once one sees the poverty very close by.
Irene,
You are right, this hat is roomy -thank you -I'll take your compliment with a bow:)
NCMountainwoman,
I added the link in my post and it's still available right now!
That is a very pretty hat! I wish I had the time and energy to knit, I think it would be so relaxing.
Unfortunately, most hats do not look good on me, so I really do not have a favorite. :(
Thank you Jeannette, for visiting Paree and commenting!
Naturally, I had to visit your blog, too. I scrolled down to the hat. Love it. Very creative. It is a hat that Cher would wear very well!
