REFLECTION IN SACRAMENTO'S HARBOR

When my brother and sis in law are visiting from Holland, we planned to show them Sacramento's Old Town and the Harbor. They would have been  particularly interested in seeing the King Delta because its waterwheel. Alas, we ran out of time!

The Delta King is now converted in a hotel.
Sorry, the reflections are tiny, because at the time I took the pic in the past I didn't know I would join Weekend Reflections!
So for more reflections, visit James, hosting Weekend Reflections

Have a great weekend everyone!

Its a beautiful Riverboat. I have read that the Grand Romance was built in Sacramento, though I have not traveled that far yet.

Oh, what a great place it is! I would love to stay there. I did ride on a paddle wheel on the Mississippi River when I lived in New Orleans. It was fun! Thanks for your visit/comments! Always appreciated! Enjoy your weekend!

That would be a cool hotel to stay at, Jeannette. Next time you go to Sacramento, you'll have to try and get a bigger reflection of the paddle wheel. :)

Enjoy your weekend.

What a fabulous boat! And I'll bet it's a fun place to stay, too.

Thanks for stopping by at my place - nice to meet you.

Thank you for showing that magnificent boat with its waterwheel. Something we don't have in the Netherlands, as you know! I bet your brother and sil were sorry to have missed this spectacle!

I know I commented on this one back when you first posted it but it's worth enjoying again and telling you how much I like it :)

I've never been to Sacramento but it looks like fun. I like the pictures and the bridge looks like something that would be nice to photograph.

I looked at the weather for OC yesterday and I was so glad that I'm not there. 79F in January just seems wrong but I like cold weather. :)

Have a great weekend!

I think old river boats are so cool. I took a river tour on one with my grandmother when i was just a kid. I remember though, that I did get sick from the motion.

Thanks for your comment on my love poem post. I have written poetry for some time and even had a poem blog for a while. During the past 11 years I have set much of my poetry to music and this year I am starting to record some of those songs. I will talk more about that on my blog off and on.

What a gorgeous old sternwheeler!
Nice to see it's taken on a second life as a hotel. What a fun stay that would be.

Karena,
I've never taken the time to visit the inside:) - mostly because we have 2 squirmy kids with us.
Hope you had a fun give away!

Clytie,
Thank you, Friend!

Dianne,
Since it's California's capitol, I wouldn't expect any less:)

Ebie,
Haven't seen that boat yet:) I only come in Sacramento because 2 of my daughters and families live there.

Sylvia,
Have been in New Orleans twice (very short) - that's an area of the States I would like to explore more (in Holland we know nothing of the deep South:) ).
You're welcome -your blog is fun!

Sally,
I know, I know - hope I think about it next time!:)

J Bar,
Yes, isn't it? I have a thing for boats and ships!

My Maracas,
You're welcome -it's always fun to see new blogs!

Philip,
Good to see you back here! Wishing all the good (and another book maybe?) in 2011!

Reader Wil,
As I said to Sylvia, we don't know much about the deep South -it's a very distinct subculture in the US (and delicious food like gumbo, etc.) -dat is waar alle katoen plantages waren.

Dianna,
Oh, you are so sweet! Thank you, Friend:)

James,
The bridge is beautiful...and took several pics, but I'm waiting for a better one!)
I'd say that you looked on the "wrong" day for temps, because for about 3 weeks it was in the 60ties during day to 47 at night (honest!).
But before the snow in the mountains melts, we'll go up to Big Bear Lake tomorrow.

Jen,
What I heard is that many young kids outgrow their motion sickness when getting older (mine did)
Hope you keep developing your gift of poetry and song writing!

Carletta,
Oh is that what you call these boats?
Maybe I just should stay overnite one time when we are visiting my kids up there!

Daily Athens,
Thank you, I'm going to see the snow in the mountains on Sunday! Hmm, I don't know that saying...what does it mean?
Also, how do I write your name in arabic characters?

Rebecca,
It's part of the whole set up of Old Town Sacramento....

Silver,
You're welcome! Looks like you're doing an itsy bit better than a year ago?

The Delta King is a real beauty!
Would you show us what the interior is like?

Thanks for the vote, Jeannette.

That looks fantastic - the sort of American heritage I'd love to visit! Thanks for your comment. I find the ironing rather theraputic, but it took years before I saw it that way, I admit...

Jeannette StG said...

Reader Wil,
In my childhood years, I used to climb them and pretend it was my house:)

Leovi,
Thank you, Leovi, and also for your visit!

Eki,
Hope we can make some pics from the inside one of the next times we're there!

Floss,
Yes, even though we've lived here for 20 years, there are still new historic things I'm learning!
Oh, my therapy would be to give the ironing to someone else:):)
