FLY A KITE - MY MONDAY NOTE

My two grand children with their "Opa" flying a kyte. It's like tossing your dream in the sky and fly, fly fly.
I could not be more impressed with you, mes amis (my friends) and fellow bloggers about the wisdom and kindness in your comments about the rich. THIS you don't hear about in the news - most of what the news portrays is about negativity, the gripers, blamers and people who even loathe them.

With that I am also saying that "justice" should be done to all people, reasonable justice. I know one thing, "love is not envious" - my quote for Monday, and for the rest of the world soon Tuesday.

To the ones with "issues" I say, "Go fly a kite to get a sweeter disposition." With saying this, I take the opportunity to show what artists do when they play with their grand children.
This is my 10 min. watercolor. Earlier that day they went to the park with their Opa (that's how they call my hubby), because to their great delight there was enough wind to keep them up in the air.

Dear Jeannette, thankyou so much for your beautiful light filled wishes for me. I am home, troubling my parents, but not better. I have an illness that makes the doctors want to run far far away.
I wish I could be the kite, and fly far far away myself xx

Jeannette this is another amazing painting ,you are really lucky to be so talented! A 10 min pic, wonderful! Your little girl painting is sweet - is it your granddaughter? I like the Opa bit, not heard much outside Holland I guess. We are not yet grandparents so hubby will have to wait to be an opa!
Have you seen/read the Kite Runner? We read it for our book club, I loved it.

Catherint, thank you, I love doing art with kids, they are so uninhibited and want to try anything! Yes, my hubby is okay with Opa, but I didn't want to be called Oma, because it makes me feel like I am a 100 years old, so they call me Nana.

By the way, what did you think yourself about the march you did a few days ago - was it successful in your eyes?

Hi Jeannette and thanks for visiting my blog. I really love your painting of the children on the hill flying their kites, it has a wonderful free and soaring feeling! What a sweet picture of the little one painting too!

Hi Lynette,
thank you for following me :) and for the kind comments. I think I was trying to convey what the children felt when they were flying their kites. And this little one may be the most artistic of the 4. I hope that at least one of them will follow through with art (I read about your story, of the house of your childhood - that's amazing)

I have to agree with you on all of this Jeanette. I think most of todays problems are from envy and wanting to keep up with the Jonses. Why can't people just be satified with what they have. I am not saying dont inprove your circumstances and/or lifesyle, just be satisfied with what you have as you go along.

I remember as a child going to the park to fly kites with my grandfather too. Mostly they were made of paper or plastic and often, a dip would land them in the nearest thorn tree where there was no hope of getting them out unscathed. Then back we would go, to spend hours making a new one and getting it balanced right. Good days for sure.

Hi Jeannette, I think I will feel the same about oma in the future! As for the demo on Saturday, it vented a lot of fury at the unfair targeting of the public sector and letting the bankers and developers who caused the crisis off scot-free. The Bill is still being pushed through in spite of opposition from the backbenchers in the government and opposition parties, even govt. candidates for the June local and European elections are aware of their pariah status and will feel the pain at the ballot box. There is talk of some "tweaking" of the levy to iron out some anomalies (like those lower tax-band low paid workers will pay proportionately more levy than higher paid higher band taxpayers!) and there is action being taken against some banks - the fraud squad moved in en masse yesterday to raid Anglo Irish Bank, the one we all now own since it was nationalised for dodgy yet legal lending practices! I should keep posting updates - I might! We are willing to share pain, but Share is the operative word, not take it alone!

Our dad taught us how to make kites(because my parents both had lost their own parents before we were born), and after that we were on our own - but my younger brother was very good with his hands in practical things, so we made plenty of kites! - and experimented how long you could make the tail, light enough to make the kite go up in the air...good memories.

I so agree with you about being satisfied in life - it makes things a lot simpler :)

Catherine,
what is it with bankers and big corporations - are they all the same across the globe??! the good thing coming out of this mess is that their greediness and hypocrasy is exposed. Boy, you are an orator, I can see you on the corner of the street gathering a crowd around you while you speak!
By the way, sorry for the typo in your name, with my first response.

Joan -I forgot to put your name with my response to your comment - it's after silver's comment (and I deleted one of your comments, because you sent it to me twice :) )

Hi Silver,
I know what you mean, but of course you don't need to read it all today, because with kids your time is limited :)
