FADING OUT

 Reminiscing about this Old Year,
I gladly let go of it.
Tossing it over my shoulder
back into history.
A true roller coaster year

or whirlwind
God's eye was on those wrangling
centrifugal moves
I hung on like a rag doll

dew on my rose

Once profusely blooming
time left its shriveled marks
fading into parchment paper
dust to dust

a rose I dried, the fragrance still lingering in my house

 Blown and thrown
like a tumbleweed
by gusts of wind
into new places and corners
until the dawn
of a New Year

May 2010 be a more settled year, and easier on our nerves and emotions,
and our jobs -for all of you!

I like the idea of tossing the old year over my shoulder ...

And I really love the dried rose - before and after! I can almost smell the perfume ...

Happy New Year!

This year has been difficult for many and I believe in staying optimistic and hopeful. I loved your photos and poetry, and the rose before and after made an impact on me. Thanks and all the best to you and your family in 2010.

Joey -this year will be of the one of the ones we'll be referring to:)
the same to you about creativity!

Clytie - with this year behind us, we can start with a new slate -but it's like the rose, we can enjoy later of what is left of it!

Beth - Thank you! extra strength and laughter, I can use that -I have worried and agonized too much this year. You are one with a generous amount of wisdom and revelation - may you shine in that in 2010!

GutsyWriter,
Yes, a hard year, and we have to be determined to come on top of it!
I so much want America to arise again:)

Gaelyn ...the fulness of the now...wow that's a tall "order" - it would be great to come at the end of next year and be able to say that! You are tall in my perspective!

Gary - that your art may expand and bloom in 2010! may be new ventures...?

Rainfield - you make me smile! by law...people should be happy too next year!

Beautifully written, Jeannette.
Best Wishes for 2010!

Word Verification is 'false' -is that a portent of something?

Paula - this holiday season has for many bitter-sweet memories -I'm glad my words were encouraging to you. Up to a very good 2010, dear friend!

Rosie - this last year was so difficult, tossing it was mildly put, it was more throwing it, LOL!
Happy New Year to you too, Rosie

Kerri - my prayer is for "mercy on us" for the next year -many blessings to you in the New Year, Kerri!

Happy New year, 2009 was not a very good year but maybe it reminds us of all the things we have and still have.
Winter has taken over here in the new year, cold, snow and pain all over because I wasn't careful enough. lol

I love the swirling colours of your painting. It reminds me of a vortex or gate to unknown realms that are presented to us for the exploring.

Jeannette StG said...

Dick,
You are right - it makes us realize that we have taken a lot for granted!
Feel for you! Did you fall on the ice, or what happened?

Jeannette StG said...

Natural Moments,
The great thing about more abstract art is that one can make it anything we want to!
Can imagine that you would like to explore "unknown realms" - go for it!
