This year, definitely influenced by being on this blog, I expanded my subjects to paint with creatures from nature, next to the landscapes I used to do. One of them is Jose, with his nature blog (on my blog list: Jose E Hernandez World). He gave me his permission to paint from one of his photos of the elephants.
this photo belongs to Jose Hernandez -do NOT copy!
I thought it was a remarkable photo, because one is used to seeing gray elephants. Well, this one, is covered with reddish earth.
Hop over to my ART NOTES page, to see the progress and finish of my pastel painting of the elephant. I used the photo as a reference, so it looks different from the photo. Thank you Jose!
Remember, it's very easy. Click on the top pic of the right column to get there. Enjoy!

I couldn't figure out why I was uneasy with the photo, until you explained that it was his COLOR! Of course!
Merry Christmas!!!
oh ho, the more elephants the better!
I see you learned to find some of the jewels on the 'Net! As much a painting a place we have been gives us a feeling of the place we can express, there are places we can not go.
It is wonderful, isn't it?
The painting is great also!
Sending you love & hugs.. Have a blessed Christmas, my sweet friend.
Dear Jeannette, I would like to wish you and yours a wonderful Christmas and all the best in the New Year. I have enjoyed getting to know you and your art in these past few months and thank you likewise for your kind visits to my place,

Joey,
Maybe my insatiable desire for travel has to do with my passion to paint - never thought about it that way - thanks for bringing it up! Hope you had a merry Christmas!
Silver,
Can't wait to the time that your Christmas will be truly "merry" - but I know that you will send me that comment at one point in time!
