THIS TREE KEEPS GROWING

First there were two people who loved each other. They loved each other enough despite all gloomy predictions that this marriage would not work! There was only one person (not exaggerated!) out of our whole circle of friends and acquaintances who was positive about this union.
Our love faced a big test at the beginning.

Ranging from " you'll divorce because you'll never be able to understand each other fully, because you're not from the same background (read race) "  to "your children will have red hair."
Looking back at it now, the reasons we heard were just too silly. But for a twenty-three year old they weighed heavy. I am sooo glad I took the jump and followed my heart.

These two had three children, and this  week we had our 38 year wedding anniversary. So, I'm a little over 38 years old.

One of the children married a while ago and had four children.

Another of these children married and had a little baby boy, soon three years ago.

And another of these children got a puppy three weeks old, and suddenly the skype conversations were going on weekly, to update us with all the concerns that babies (puppies) bring! From "how often does Ruby need a bath? She hates it" to "she's still not able to walk very well on my hardwood floor, and kind of gliding around." The conversations got less when the puppy finally was able to take walks outside and not stop at every store to explore.

But this is not the end of the story.
On Christmas day we heard that the little boy will soon have a playmate to "boss" around. Don't know why they keep these announcements for Christmas day, but I'm happy!

Happy anniversary! How very nice!
Last week I attended a 50th wedding anniversary of a mixed couple: she, my cousin of roumanian origin, he of yemenite origin. They were 17 and 19 of age when they got married, with no money, no profession, with strong opposition from the bride's parents but with great Love for one another. And now they already have great grandchildren, all well and successful.

You are a beautiful couple and I have a feeling that's inside and out.

Many blessings to you on your anniversary. Better get busy knitting for that babe! How exciting.

Very cool! How mixed up was my Dad and mom's? He 1st generation French, she second generation Greek, that lasted his life time and wasn't all bad - it produced me!
Never believe what "They" say, unless you are in Chicago cause i understand that "they" lives there!

Dina,
Thank you friend! Hope you'll write someday the story of your family:)

Duta,
That is wonderful to hear about your cousin, Duta! Part of it, is I think the determination "to make it." (because all our friends said we wouldn't, we wanted to show 'em they were wrong!)

Rudee,
Thank you for your kind comments! When I asked my daughter what she wanted me to knit, she told me to wait till she knows if it's a boy or girl:)

Joey,
Hey, I'm all for French-Greek connections. My artist name comes from my mother, and somehow Greece seemed the only place I wanted to go for our honeymoon.
Haha, I never heard that about Chicago!

Sanna,
Thank you, Sanna! Of course this is a story that is wonderful looking back -at first it felt more like running an obstacle course:)

Such a wonderful story! A little like mine. I must have been a very stubborn young lady, I too married at 18...and 39 years later still going strong. I love a great love story....nothing like it....it shows great courage and strength I think to withstand storm after storm and still come through them touching a silver lining in a cloud. Bring it on...another 38!

A story with a sweet ending, just because of the joint effort from all of you.

Linda,
Being stubborn can have its positive sides! Like, holding on to something good! It sounds like you have a great marriage -happy for you!

Rainfield,
So true, good relationships take much work and cooperation from everyone involved!

Shaista,
Thank you! Aah, a celebration for your parents too -congratulate them from me and wishing you all have a happy celebration!
Hope you once will have a romantic story too!!

Thank you Angie!
You are always so positive and kind:) Health, love and harmony are very important to me!

Oh what a coincidence, Pamela!
Did it snow on your wedding day? The day before mine rain came with buckets from the sky, but fortunately it was dry, but everyone had an umbrella with them:) Indeed, a happy marriage is a wonderful thing!
I wish for you that your marriage may last long and your days be bright!

Muse,
That my joys may multiply -I like that wish! You are so good with words, my friend. And so romantic!

Zuzanna,
Thank you, friend! It's a precarious balance to know and follow the voice of wisdom.

Barry,
Up to another 40 years, Barry! Every day is a new gift from God. I am happy for you, as you are for me:)

The Grandpa,
The larger the tree, the more beautiful it becomes!

Clytie,
Thank you for all these compliments, Clytie. You forgot one thing: beautiful friends!

Rosie,
Thank you Rosie! Sometimes we don't realise how good things are until we start counting our blessings!
