What is this bright moon
framed by bare branches
in winter night?
watching trees swaying
ever so slightly
do not change
do not change the ways
of the stratosphere by illuminating
your streets, signs and highways
give way
give way to unadulterated light
of a blue moon.

Beauty and love do not make sense either. I don't question those. Love the poem!
Lovely words and photos jeannette - that moon has what we call a "burr" round it.
Beatiful Jeannette! I like your idea of not having street lights to interfere with the night sky. Glad we don't have them here.
Computer is only a little better. I've been staying offline for many hours at a time and it seems to help. Also have an extra fan blowing on the unit.
Angie,
You are so right! Thank you Angie! I'll write you about the paintings sometime this weekend hopefully.
Weaver,
Thank you!It was such a surprise -we saw it when we came back from a shopping trip. Hubby took them (he's much taller) to get the branches as a frame around the moon.
Such lovely moon pictures
so hard to capture its elusive loveliness
Gealyn,
Especially near my new living place there are too many street lights (and too bright!)
Sounds like some parts need to be replaced, Gaelyn, but if so, you might be better off to save for a new one (sorry to hear that).
Elizabeth,
Thank you, Elizabeth! Good to hear from you again after so long. (I recognized when I saw your blog about Marakesh). I left you a comment, but when I typed in my new email, and posted the message, my message disappeared, but not my info. Does that mean you have received the comment, or not?
If not, this was the jest of the comment: you have done something similar as I: come from Europe (Holland in my case) and settled in the US.
This "blue" moon was something else! Other places got to see a partial eclipse )Europe and Asia).
Joey,
Aren't you glad you live here in the USA?
It is beautiful nonetheless.
Poetikat - that coming from you as a poet is significant to me:)
Lovely poem and ohotos.
Oh this is so lovely -- across the cove some idiots put up three street lights - we are not happy -- we want to find out how to have them turned off. Five years living in the cove and just last year they put them up -- on a beautiful dark lovely mountain cove...just don't get it!
lovely lovely post here.
applause, and a bow.... :)
Stine,
Thank you for visiting! Made a comment on your blog:)
Kathryn,
So sorry! I think some people are fearful, thinking of being robbed or worse, or falling, not finding their keys, etc. What fear brings us to, eh? Not pretty!
Thank you Kathryn! (guess you're back from Orgon?)
The Muse,
Oh, I'm honored! It was a sudden spurt of inspiration when coming back from South Coast Plaza and seeing this moon (so much more romantic than the bright street lights!)
These are such beautiful pictures (and words). I'm inspired by the colors and the light.
Beautiful post!
Rudee,
Thank you. That big moon was quite an inspiration.
James,
Thank you for visiting! Glad you like it:)
Jeannette: You captured the Moon so beautifully and your writing certainly added to its power.
Great pictures and a great poem, no matter the science.;)
xoxo

Absolutely beautiful moon photos. I felt peace as soon as I saw them!
Beautiful pictures and poem. I see you are a woman of many talents.
Dear St. Germain,
This is a neat post and beautiful poem. Thanks so much for your kind visit and comment on our Luxembourg blog.
God bless you!
Cezar & Léia
Fishing Guy,
Thank you! Actually the photo was taken by hubby, since I'm not tall enough to take that angle:)
Zuzanna,
Thank you, dear friend! Blogging does make things simpler, than having to give evidence LOL
Clytie,
the photo does not give justice to the size of the moon -it looked in reality bigger than this:)
Midwest,
Thank you! - more talents give more responsibility (in my opinion) :)
Cezar and Leia,
Your're welcome!
You are great in giving the tourist view! Do you both live here in the USA?
Hope you visit again!Jeannette
Jeanette, exquisite poem and photos. My goodness you are a talented lady. :-)
Jo, thank you! I know another lady who has mucho talents, only in different areas than I:)
Blue or not blue who cares, very beautiful pictures.
That's a beautiful framing, Jeannette! And I like the quote that you chose to accompany it.
Dick,
Thank you -I like your opinion, Dick!(smile)
Eki,
Thank you, those branches just happened to be there:)
Eki, maybe you don't realize that this is my own poem? (my artist name is St.Germain)
