SEPIA SCENE - ROUND TOWER IN SOLVANG

Small round tower  on main street in Solvang,
a town near Santa Barbara, California with Danish heritage.
We had such a good time in this small town atmosphere on the 4th of July!

Great buildings. Nice shot.

I especially like the round tower.
Solvang means Sunny Meadow, and is also the name of a part of our town in Norway.

I like the round rower made of stone. It looks like it has a real thatched roof. Cool!

This is so lovely in sepia. I recognized it immediately, having been to Solvang many times.

Do you live in CA?

Ma.links,
Got my hubby to take this shot, since he's tall enough to get in all the angels:)

Felisol,
Went to your blog. Are you a Scandinavian, that you know what Solvang means?

Twain,
Indeed it is...and kinda quirky too:)

MaryT.,
Thank you for checking all the details. Greatly appreciated:)

EGWow,
It was actually your blog that made me think trying out Sepia scenes:)

Manang Kim,
Almost tricked you, didn't I... love different building styles! I am from Holland myself, which is "close" (to American standards) to Denmark.

Jew Wishes,
Hadn't been there in so long -it was refreshing to be there!

Am from Holland, but came here to study, and stayed in the L.A. area:)

Hi!
If not for the car, this could be from another century. Great sepia picture! Have a great day!

Looks like that tower sprouted right out of a fairy tale.

I've only been to Solvang twice - lovely little town. I enjoyed visiting the California Mission there.

Joanny,
Thank you, J.:) - I definitely experienced the little town as charming and touristy!

Sherrie,
Maybe I should have made the car disappear in photoshop...oh well, there's always a next time!

Jen,
I like the "sprouted out" expression - yes, that whole town has something fairy tale like!

Dutchbaby,
You go to your reader's blog on your vacation?? Hit the Off button and have fun! Or, have you already come back?

They definitely brought their heritage with them, it has the European ambience. Looks like a lovely old postcard.

Interesting how sepia treatment always makes it seem such a long time in the past.

Paula,
Didn't know that Danish were so attached to their heritage:)

So good to see you again at my blog! Hope that your hiatus was about the renovation of the house, and not something more serious (although the first can be pretty intense too:) )

Weaver,
So true, color has a stronger influence that people sometimes give credit (to?) -ugh, English is definitely a hard language:)
