SEPIA SCENES - A JAR OF COOKIES

SEPIA SCENES 103
Maybe the rain is doing that to me - the craving for comfort food.

In the jar are home made chocolate chip cookies.
All I can think of today is cookies!!!
I added 2 (other) kinds of 'em today at the grocery store!

What do you crave when it rains?

I like rainy days. :)

But when I have cravings? Hmmm. Sometimes, an apple...or peanut butter (very bad!).

I like this photo in sepia!

EG Wow,
They're not my favorite, although I know it's good for the plants and soil. Uh, peanut butter is protein - hamburger, now THAT is bad -for me at least - I did only one diet in my life and lost 10 lbs by separating protein from bread (Suzanne Summers diet)

If it's a cool rainy day I crave a cup of hot soup with a nice chunk of bread.

It has been raining so much the last week and what I crave is a bit of warmth again! I guess we will see it next around July 4th :)

Jen,
I'm with you - and pay you a visit to join you with a cup of soup!

Gary,
It only rained two nights and mornings here, and I already have enough!

Here one of our entire seasons is WET. Wet and still hot. But the wet season, almost over now, was mild this year -- we had only a few typhoons and the rains just came in the afternoons and lasted a bit. Sometimes it's so humid I crave a dehumidifier (or we just turn on the air conditioner at night). Food? No cravings from rain... although if it were raining AND cold, a good hot soup. With a Cantonese hubby who cooks, we get a lot of soups anyway. So my cravings have to do with DEEP DARK BELGIUM CHOCOLATE. :-D

it doesn't take rain for me to crave comfort food ;)
I'll never be thin

this shot is lovely in sepia

Potato soup is something I like to eat during fall rains.

I love the cookie jar and it is great in Sepia!

If it is a cold, rainy day I want chicken and dumplings. If I am craving something sweet, I would choose peanut butter cookies every time!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I will work on getting a full shot of Old Blue! :)

This time of year, I crave cider and donuts from the cider mill. When leaving, I have to grab a caramel apple, and if it's covered in peanuts, so much the better.

I love the photo.

Yummy! I do Love cookies too! When it rains, I want hot tea or hot chocolate and a big fat warm muffin or cinnamon roll! :)))

On cold, rainy days I'm delighted to eat a bowl of hot soup. In fact. I eat soup on almost every late autumn and winter day.

I do crave for a slice of tiramisu cake though(mad about this), but I have to be disciplined and forget about it as it damages my weight.

Francesca,
Don't envy you -humidity is the worst! In Beijing in Aug. it was so humid, that a couple of times I had to remind myself to breathe deeply, because I started feeling faint!

Didn't know there were dehumidifiers!
I go for dark or bitter (a shade darker than dark) chocolate any time!
Aaah, your hubby is the connection with China!

Dianne,
Thank you! I come from Holland -to me it's not important to be thin, LOL...but healthy? Yes, that's important to me.

Brenda,
Thanks for visiting!I like potato soup, but the one I know is very heavy on the stomach -do you have a good recipe?

Southern Sass,
Chicken -great, but I only have eaten good dumplings once -I think it was in Eastern Germany...because of that, I stay away from dumplings.

I know it'll be a great pic to see the whole blue truck:)

Rudee,
While I was reading your comment, I heard the calorie-counter adding the numbers very fast! doughnuts and peanutbutter in one sitting -where do you leave it??

Ollie McKay,
Oooh, with cinnamon rolls and coffee I'll join you!
Love your blog -so diverse:)

Nitwit1,
Thank you:) After pregnancy cravings it must be our age-cravings, LOL!

Duta,
Tiramisu I can have anytime as dessert! Too bad Israel is a little too far to share a meal of hot soup and dessert together, but you never know...:)

When it is a rainy day, I crave real Belgian chocolates with soft creamy fillings. Luckily, I live in the right place to get them easily. They are very bad for my weight, though, and I have to limit it to one indulgence. I also like bread with hagelslag.

HI Jeanette! Just a wee correction: hubby is not my connection to China. I am hubby's connection back to China! We met in Toronto in '85 when I was working in the China he had left in '62. After a few years, he wanted to get serious and I told him, if you want me, you want China. It was a HUGE struggle for him, but he chose me. Until recently, it's always been my work that takes us there. We still have an apartment in Shenzhen. :-)

I like this sepia photo. When it rains (and it does not rain too much around here) I like to have a hot cup of tea in an English china cup and some shortbread cookies.

Jeannette StG said...

Irene,
brood met hagelslag is still one of my favorite breakfasts! Actually I like the Dutch (puur) chocolates better than the Belgian, because they are not as creamy.

Francesca,
It's a long time ago that I heard a romantic story like that:) I can imagine that it was hard for him! Forgot what work you did in China?

Leia,
Thank you, Friend for the compliments:) You must be busy with your studies! Are you making friends in college?

Vagabonde,
Here it hardly ever rains too...till this year. Love tea too. Once in a while I like shortbread, but often I have more of a sweet tooth and have a cookie with sweets in or on it, or cake, or scones...I could go on and on!
