A LEISURELY WALK

This tree I call the Bad Hair Day Tree
sorry I don't know the real name,
but since I many days like those in my teens, it brings back memories!
Do you see the Koi fish in the water?
all these pics are taken in the Huntington Library Gardens

This is more my type of "Do" -the Magnolia Tree

A close up from some blooms in the front of the Garden

"If you play they will come"

The magnolias are lovely, and so is the statue. And I had to laugh at your "bad hair day" tree... :)

I like that you give trees names like that. I find that it's easier to landmark a tree for others when they have names. Is that just typically human?

Your tree looks like a weeping willow without its leaves. And having had a lot of pruning.

Love the name "bad hair tree"!
Your close up of the magnolia is beautiful.

Was this at the Japanese Garden? Most probably the white blooms are cherry blossoms. I have seen them in white other than the pink ones.

Karena,
Thank you, Karena! He'll build anything, if you pay him:):)

LG Tina,
Thank you! The many kinds of trees and flowers in other parts of the world are my favorite to display!

Rainfield,
Is that a promise?

Monika,
When I was a teen I had many of those bad hair days, but meanwhile I've learned to net ruin my day anymore:)

Stephanie,
Usually don't give plants and trees my own name, but I couldn't resist, since this tree looked so odd to me!

Violetsky,
Thank you, it has a history, and I decided I'm going to add this to my post.

Ebie,
Yes, that's the Japanese Garden. But the blossoms are surely too big for cherry blossoms -they are as big as a magnolia. Next time we'll go there, I'll ask what tree it is (stands left of the main entrance.:)

I remember visiting the Huntington Library as a child, and thinking what a heavenly sort of place it was. I love your bad hair day quips. Cute!

Thanks for the glimpse of the Huntington Library gardens. I must go there someday, since one of my homes is only about an hour away...

Bad Hair Day is such a great name for that tree. Looks like it could use some detangler.

PS. Hubby did a really nice job on your easel!

Like your photos. I like magnolia, we have a small tree in the garden, but with great flowers and so big!
Bad hair day, funny.
It looks like they turned the tree upside down!
I can tell you it look like the volcano on Iceland has stopped, so airtraffic is back on. The ash clouds have blown away.

Love the names you used for the trees. I am not good and common or the botany names for plants, etc.

The bad hair day is a great one.

fjallripan,
Yes, the magnolias have wonderful blooms! Enjoy your weekend!

Betsy,
Never get enough visits in. What you would also like (now you're an adult) are the buildings containing the history of the H. and art.

Teacher,
The Huntington is big. We often give out before we've seen enough because of the weather (too hot). One of your homes...how many do you have?

Chubsculit,
Thank you, Friend!

Rebecca,
Detangler! That should help! I'll pass on the compliment to hubby:)

Kim,
You may laugh -that's okay!!

Dianne,
Thank you. You are a great observer:)

Eric,
Great to hear that the ash cloud is not coming your way anymore! You're right about the upside down tree (haha).

Nitwit1,
I hear you -my brain can't contain all those Latin names either:)

Beautiful, fascinating photos! Your tree may be having a permanent bad hair day but it has so much character! And your hubby's easel is just amazing! So creative and versatile!

I love the close up flower and the lovely sculpture!Amazing set of pictures!
Re your comment: oh sorry, I have no idea about the sculptor of that creative sculpture in Geneve. It's in a park near UNICEF.
I'm also enchanted by that sculpture.I think it means a men and a woman hugging and maybe there is also a baby with them. For my heart it means "union", family, love... :)
Thanks so much for you always kind words!

Sally,
Pet dog? - that's a great idea:)
Me thinks the sculpture is a "he."
Hope you had a great long weekend

Lady Fi,
Yeah, we tend to go to the Huntington Library Gardens on sunny days. One time we even went when it was 99 deg. F. After 2 hours we were totally wilted:)

Naturefootsteps,
Great to have a tall hubby who can take many beautiful shots that I can't reach - am quite a bit shorter:)

Caroline,
Thank you, Caroline for visiting and -I'll pass on the compliment!

Greyscale,
Thank you Friend! The only thing that lacks is a big place for a studio! You are right that tree has much character!

Barefoot Crofter,
Thanks for visiting! I'm addicted to the sun -good I live in California, lol

Forgetmenot,
The more pics I take, the mroe I like close ups, because it's "the essence." Hope you had a great long weekend!

JM,
Thanks! Am glad someone (you) knows the kind of magnolia these are, because I didn't:)

Leia,
We're of the same mind about the sculpture! Even thought this sculpture has a round edge, I don't think it's Henri Moore.
