For Midweek Blues
For Watery Wednesday
For Sky Watch
Last year, September we visited Hungtington Libraries Gardens on what turned out to be a very hot day, so even though we tried our hardest to stay in the shade, we were so wilted that we left after two hours. The plants and flowers had more stamina that we did!
A very quiet Sunday,
almost no one in the Library Gardens
this one was the quietest of all
this ordinary Sunday
it was sweltering hot (99 deg.F),
but these flowers did not fold or wilt
but these flowers did not fold or wilt
unlike us
who walked the extra mile along the bamboo
to stay in the shade
wishing for some water trickles
but agree that this would be
a waste on such a hot day
but agree that this would be
a waste on such a hot day
or sat in the shade
this fellow had it made. He had a rose arbor all to himself...in the shade

The flowers look like Bleeding Hearts. Are they? Either way, they're gorgeous, and so are these gardens.
I feel the heat as I read what you've written. I remember very hot days like that. You need very many cold drinks and ice cream sundaes on days like that. I would love to visit the Huntington Library Gardens again. It's been a long time since I was there. At least 30 years.
It looks like you sure had a nice day in the hot! Your pictures are wonderful.
We've been hot here too, yesterday 100°F, the rest of the week 99 and 98's.
I made Mrs. Jim and easel but it wasn't nearly as nice as yours. Your old man does really good work.
..
Happy MidWeek Blues!
..
Now I feel motivated to go visit my favorite public garden...but I think I will wait for a cool day!
nice place to spend a few hours exploring and photographing.
pretty pretty place
I can't deal with very hot days either
I don't know if I would have lasted 2 hours
you got some great shots
i would love to sit on that bench under the trellis--a perfect place to read. i enjoyed your photos. have a great week!
Rudee,
Thanks, Rudee! As usual, I don't know the name of the flowers I post, sorry , I will have to look it up:)

Thank you, Jim. My goodness, right now?? It's here low 70ties now(the pics were taken last year Sept).
Rebecca,
It's true, you'll see more on a cool day:)
ewok,
Yeah, and every time it's different:)
Dianne,
We had to drive more than an hour up there, so we didn't want to go back after an hour:(
Luna Miranda,
Yes, it would be a perfect place to read, only there are on most days too many people coming by:)
You have a great week too!
We had such a day on Monday which was our National Day and a holiday here - it was too hot (for me anyway!) to stay in the sun, one just wanted to seek the shadow.
Oh, I'm not very good in very hot weather. I'd have found that lovely rose arbor and just stayed there. Maybe a little knitting?
BTW, the red flowers are fuschias.
the sky will be different in a few hours, its present perfection and completeness.... Happy TGIF! Hoping you can visit my skywatch post.
Appreciate the tour and "cool" photos
Beautiful photos, I would like to sit on that bench and just enjoy!
