Three Crosses

Not too long ago I went to a shopping mall and saw in a men's store window some nice suits displayed, all with a cross necklace. They were really cool. Crosses are "in" right now, small ones, big ones. Everyone wears them. Actors, business people, teachers.
Two years ago we were on our way to Big Bear Lake with our vacationing Dutch friends, and we saw this cross cloud formation (in photo album or text). I am not a photo geek. One setting is all I use. I can't crop or alter - may be some day! So, this is the real thing, cool, huh?

But I did a painting once and called it Good Friday. It's the story of the three crosses. You know it? Find out more.
In old Roman times, the cross was the death penalty for criminals. On Good Friday 3 crosses were standing on the hill top. The poem is about the middle cross. Two thieves were hanging on the outside crosses. And on the middle cross was someone who was (falsely) accused of attempted to overthrow the government.
It's a horrible story, but some aweful things turn later into "good" things.

Looming in the distance
a cross
lightning crackling through a blood red sky
a curtain tearing
searing the silence of that agonizing sight
with swollen eyes he looked at me
"it's for you",
so you won't be punished for your wrongs,"
with broken voice,
right before his cry echoed through the hills,
"It's finished."

But wait! Who put him there?

Was it not I who betrayed him
for some shiny dollars?
Was it not because of me
that his back was whipped?
Was it not I
who washed my hands
as if I was innocent of his blood?
But now it was too late. All hope was gone.
IF ONLY I HAD...

But time passed.
On the third day after
in the distance I hear
his friends excitedly shouting
"It's really true. He is alive."
A NEW hope arose
and will stay with me forever!
Never to forget "it's for me."
that horrible afternoon.

Some think that story is a myth. Others think it's true. When this is truth, it would change your life, wouldn't it?
