A concert of honking cars at 2 at night got me out of bed, and shot this pic balancing my camera in between the bars of the balcony of my son's apartment on the eleventh floor -my hand not being too steady, I blame it on major jet lag:).
This was 3 years ago, but in my mind it's like yesterday!
Don't know if this constitutes a reflection, but I thought it made for an interesting pic.

Interesting capture indeed! Fun where we find them sometimes, isn't it! Enjoy a lovely weekend!!
Sylvia
I like the slice of night life feeling I have when I look at you pic, Jeanette... I can almost "feel" the weather and hear the noise... Very interesting shot.
I find it interesting! I've never been there, but hope to someday!
that's a busy busy street!
I love the blur of action and color
That looks like Manila too. Cars are honking at the wee hour in the morning. Great shot you've got here thanks for sharing!
Weekend Reflection
Lots of noise and interesting night sceen. Looks like the cars are stuck in a roundaboug and don't know how to get out.
Sylvia,
Even sleepless nights can be made useful, lol. Hope your weekend is great:)
'Tsuki,
Seems easier to take good or interesting pics when I'm away from familiar surroundings!
Patrick,
Now I read today that your wife is from Japan, there's a great likelihood that you may visit China too (I would prefer Beijing over Hong Kong, which is much more western)!
Dianne,
Yes, I really had to get used to the noise levels there. When I came back I thought it was so "quiet" on the Los Angeles freeways (haha, now I don't!)/
Kim,
Yeah, am slowly getting the idea that the Philippines are much like an Asian country.
Nitwit,
Here in the US everyone would hang out their window to see what was going on, but my son was hardly interested in what was happening, lol.
Looks like a lot of activity for two o'clock in the morning.
lovely photo, I like the colours very much
Very cool view from above.
Sigh... home... there are moments I miss it. :-D
[Yes, it's my first time here, but I imagine Bucharest has changed a lot over the past 22 years. Certainly a lot of renovation has been done and is being done. Some of my earlier photos show that.]
It looks and sounds like a city that never sleeps ...
I'd rather live in the subburb if the there's railway.
The cars seem to be floating in a downward spiral between the buildings.
The post is also a nice play on the word 'reflection' as you reflect back on a special memory.
I spent time in China a few years ago - it never seems to sleep does it.
My son is in China right now. He went to visit his girlfriend and ask for her hand in marriage and meet her parents. (Long story) He's in Shenyang. Now I know why he said the driving is kinda crazy in China!
Reflection in more ways than one!
I once photographed Time Square in NYCity from the 23rd floor of the hotel I was staying in. Only the yellow cabs are missing from your image.
Weren't you afraid of the height? The photo is unique! So it was worthwhile balancing between heaven and earth! ;)
Sounds like a wonderful experience for your son! Wow! What a view from his apartment too. :0)
Marvin,
That's one of the big differences between city and country -a city never sleeps -at first it's very tiring, but one does get used to it...
Green Poet,
Thank you and also for visiting my blog!
JM
Now if I also could learn to paint from a birds eye view, I would be in heaven:) (I mean elate)
Francesca,
Sorry to have to miss "home"!
Now the severe side of Rum.: has it gotten any better these days with human trafficking (that you know of)?
Eki,
My son is young and an night owl, so it fits his life style:):)
Stephanie,
sorry, don't know what the noise was about -and things like that are common so i couldn't interest my son to get up and have a look:)
Funny that you noticed about the "reflection"!
Weaver,
I remembered from your comments on previous posts that you were there -they must find the western way of living boring, lol
Janelle,
Oh, your son must love her (hope he knows what he's getting into?)
Where is Shenyang?
Merisi,
When it's night, the height doesn't seem so dizzying, isn't it?:)
Reader Wil,
The bars of the railing on the balcony were very close together, AND i had jetlag - I don't know if I would have done it when being clear in my mind:)
Lisaschaos
Your screen name made me smile -it's that bad, eh?
Can't figure it out, because life there is so different from here, and it is his first time living in another country! (Of course his parents are nomads, that helps).
Funny you should ask that, Jeanette. We are looking at migration behaviors and exploring ways to make the process safer and more efficient for migrants. Reducing the risks of the exploitation side is very much part of our aims.
Hi Jeanette, Shenyang is in northern China. It's more of an industrialized city of 8 million people. They dated while she was a student getting her MBA at the same university my son works at. He knows some of the huge cultural differences but, what can he say. He's in love. Let's keep our fingers crossed about the parent's approval:).
haha, you certainly know it's somewhere in Asia, when you see these flickering lights. ^0^
and china is indeed a place that's fast and furious. ^-^
it think this is a good reflection and gr8 view of the apartment,
