For Midweek Blues, hosted by Rebecca
For Watery Wednesday hosted by 2sweetnsaxy
Please scroll down  -thanks!

A major sign of Spring in California are the luscious green
and blooming hill sides.
For the rest of the year the hills are a sad brown.
(for Midweek Blues)

Iris, 24 x 24 Oil, St. Germain

Don't know how it is in other states, but in California this flower
is a common sight in spring.

My own rendition of the iris, 24 x 24 Oil, St. Germain ABOVE
was taken from a bouquet of  (live) irises.

The stream and surrounding vegetation
still looks young and fresh in Spring
(for Watery Wednesday)

Even though in my previous front yard a small Camellia tree started blooming right after the New Year, I did not have the feeling that Spring reigned in full force till my wisteria against the fence in the back yard started blooming  -a waterfall of lavender!

Jeannette: What wonderful photos. I miss CA so much this time of year for the very green hills to which you refer.

Your husband built a fabulous easel. You are a lucky girl.

May I capture the gorgeous iris you've painted & post to my blog referencing you, the artist & your blog?

Awesome new masthead and template colors.

Okay, enough compliments!

I love your iris painting. And the one on the easel too. Will you be painting a waterfall of lavender? It would make a great title.

Beautiful beautiful iris -- your painting is wonderful.

I love both iris and wisteria -- spring flowers we don't see here in Florida. I miss them.

I'm with Rebecca - I would love to see a 'waterfall of lavender' painting! It would go perfectly with your stunning iris!!!

I love your iris painting! Such great talent!

P.S. I am sending you an email.

jeannette said...

I agree, it really looks like a purple waterfall!

Now, that would make the kind of scene I would paint and do it in a quirky style:)

I'm laughing, in how you and Clytie try to persuade me:)

So agree with you! I'm very proud of the easel artwork!

Didn't realize that you don't see them where you live -sorry!

Guess you are trying to tempt me??(laugh)

Thak you, Friend!
