A major sign of Spring in California are the luscious green
and blooming hill sides.

For the rest of the year the hills are a sad brown.

Iris, 24 x 24 Oil, St. Germain
Don't know how it is in other states, but in California this flower
is a common sight in spring.
is a common sight in spring.
My own rendition of the iris, 24 x 24 Oil, St. Germain ABOVE
was taken from a bouquet of (live) irises.
Even though in my previous front yard a small Camellia tree started blooming right after the New Year, I did not have the feeling that Spring reigned in full force till my wisteria against the fence in the back yard started blooming -a waterfall of lavender!
