Closer to the North entrance are the most breath taking views.
It's often more challenging to paint because
the weather is too cold or too hot high up in the mountains (8-9000feet),
so I'm only lasting a short time.
Or the mosquitoes are having a feast, no matter how much
of the deadliest (meaning also unhealthy!) mosquito spray I have on.
The longest I've been able to sit out here on this side
of the lake to paint was 20 minutes!
No pain, no gain, they say...I feel it, ouch!

Beautiful! Love the reflection of the mountain in the water.
very nice. i haven't been to yosemite this year yet.
My WW is here
The reflection on the water is stunning.
Ask the Avon lady for the good smelling body cream that repels mosquitoes. It works! Just can't think of the name after all these years.
The view sure is pretty though :)
What beautiful scenery - worth a few mosquito bites I think, much as I hate those little creatures! I hope you enjoy your painting.
Oh Yosemite is so beautiful and deserving of your talent!!! We went there in May one year -- it was beautiful, so many waterfalls that early...but mosquitoes -yeah, I feel your pain! (I never know whether the spray or the bite is yukkier...or more dangerous).
2sweetnsaxy,
Thank you, friend! And I'm enjoying WW very much! Thanks for hosting each week:)
Photo Cache,
The first night I tried and tried again to leave a comment at your blog, but Blogger didn't let me - sorry! Will try again today!
Squirrel Queen,
Yes, isn't it gorgeous?
Irene,
didn't know Avon had anti-mosquito spray!
Jen,
Oh it is really R & R, because the view in front of us is a river, and in the distance we look at a waterfall!
Jane,
I'll enjoy it in a few weeks, so my mind is gearing up for it by writing this post:)
Sallie,
Yes, it's a dilemma, but not enough to stay away from plein air painting:)
Hi Jeannette, it's a body cream that smells very good that turns out to be a mosquito repellent. People found out about it by accident. Give it a try.
Lovely photos!
My entry.
Great shots. Happy sky watching!

That's why I can't wait to see the painting. For it's in that painting that the mosquitoes feasted on you hehe! For sure it's worth it! ^_^

Irene,
Who would have ever thought a NICE smell would repel! Away with the DDT!
Modern mom,
Thank you, and also for visiting my blog:)

Beautiful shots!
Have a great weekend!
Hello
I don´t know that area but it´s very beautiful
In Denmark, we have an area like that...and many artists visit there...
THanks for you´d stop by my blog and left a comment
nice day
Sometimes, the outdoors in summer is over-rated! Still, it is worth the effort.
Mooie reflectie in het water, Jeannette! De schildersezel is een success, hè?!
love the reflection..

Mio,
Thank you, and I love your blog -very dreamy photos!
Grace Ollson,
Did not realize you lived in Denmark! How is that area where all the artist come, called?
Violetsky,
When the weather is great on most days, one gets very spoiled (!) and expects everything else has to be "good" too:)
Reader Wil,
Hartelijk dank! Het is the meest comfortabele ezel (praktish, met veel ruimte) die ik ooit gehad heb!
Jo,
thank you! Your profile pic (avatar?) is so cute! Thanks for the visit!
Love the reflection. Painting out-doors is not always a great joy.
That's a place that I've wanted to see for a long time. The reflection makes me want to go even more. I bet you'll paint wonderful pictures even if you get eaten alive. :)
I love Yosemite! How fortunate you are to be able to go there and paint. I loved your art blog..you are very talented!
Arija,
With plein air painting there's the push to "have to finish it!"
James,
Looking at how you enjoy photography, you'll go crazy in Yosemite -not enough hours in a day! I'm famous for "Stop the car!"
Pat,
You have been at many places in the US - the next item on my list is Yellow Stone Park!
Thank you for perusing my art blog!-I don't know if it is as much talent, as it is persistence:)and practice:)
